Best security system for the project below?
"Design of AC motor driven by a lift capable of being mounted on a beam steel and able to lift up 'x' through secs kg 'and' m 'z'. The device must be fail-safe in that the load can not fall if the power fails but can be removed manually if necessary "I was thinking about using a type of ratchet system power outage, but then I did not know how to manually decrease the load once the ratchet system is in place. Any idea what would work?
Using a worm gear connected to drive a cable drum. This is in itself a fail-safe arrangement. A removable handle can be attached to the worm shaft to deal with interruptions power supply.
